There are two types of wrinkles – static (present all the time) and dynamic (occur only with movement of muscles). Over time with overuse of certain muscles, dynamic wrinkles may become static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles often exist in the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes – crow’s feet, and around the mouth. If done consistently, botox can be used to treat your current wrinkles as well as prevent static wrinkles from developing in the future! But don’t fret if you have already developed static lines from overuse of your brow muscles. Botox combined with other treatments such as peels, laser resurfacing, microneedling, or fillers can also effectively erase existing static wrinkles.
