Caroline K. Yoon, M.D.
GENERAL ENT / SINUS SPECIALIST
Dr. Yoon is board certified in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery. She received her B.S. from Trinity University, her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, and completed her residency in a joint program with Columbia and Cornell. Her research efforts include studies on hearing loss, sinusitis, allergy, and pediatric head and neck masses. She has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and her research has been presented at numerous conferences and meetings. She has also engaged in volunteer work in Honduras addressing cleft lip and palate abnormalities in children. Her specialties include medical and surgical management of nasal and sinus disorders, congenital and acquired neck masses, and the full spectrum of ENT disorders in both adults and children.

Melissa Hu, M.D.
GENERAL ENT / FACIAL PLASTIC SURGEON
Dr. Hu is double board certified in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery. Growing up in the greater Houston area, Dr. Hu attended Cornell University for undergraduate studies and graduated cum laude as a College Scholar majoring in cultural anthropology and biochemistry. She completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha in the top 10 percent of her class. During her residency and fellowship training at Louisiana State University Health – Shreveport, she authored several articles in Laryngoscope and American Journal of Otolaryngology. She has been awarded the resident research award by the highly esteemed Triologic Society as well as the fellowship research award by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hu specializes in chronic sinus disease, nasal polyps, nasal obstruction, nasal reconstruction, head and neck tumors, and skin cancer reconstructions.

Maria Gomez, PA
Maria is a dedicated ENT physician assistant here at Clear Lake Medical Center ENT who graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2024. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Houston in 2020. Originally from Peru, she brings a unique perspective to patient care, blending cultural sensitivity with medical expertise. Outside of work, she enjoys movie outings, trying new restaurants, and going on walks with her Goldendoodle. Passionate about ENT and committed to making a difference, she strives to provide compassionate care to every patient.

Chanda J. Abbott, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Abbott received her B.S. from Eastern New Mexico University and her Masters and Doctor of Audiology from Texas Tech University, Health Sciences Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, Texas Academy of Audiology, and the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. She specializes in hearing aids, combining physics, mechanics, and biology to help her patients hear better. She makes every effort to ensure that her patients receive the best care possible and continue enjoying their lives unhindered from hearing loss.

Dr. Tess Sayles
Dr. Tess Sayles received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and psychology from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin and her Doctor of Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. She is a member of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. She has a special interest in the field of pediatric audiology, with experience in diagnostic testing, auditory processing testing and diagnosis, and hearing aid fitting of all ages. Dr. Sayles is dedicated to her patients and provides quality care and education in aspects of hearing health and it’s relationship to quality of life.
